We all know about the startup folder on our start menu, that is of course the
obvious place for adding and deleting programs to your startup. There are
other places that you can go to do this.
Windows XP provides two very easy
methods for seeing everything that's started when your system loads.
My personal favorite place is the startup tab in the System
Configuration Utility. To find it do these steps:
- Open the Run box by pressing [Windows button]R OR clicking start -->
Run.
- Type msconfig and hit enter.
- Click the Startup tab.
It'll look like this (only with YOUR start apps instead of mine):

The other way is in the System Information Utility.
- Click Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> System
Information
- Expand the Software Environment branch
- Click Startup Programs
