File and settings transfer wizard So many people reinstall windows on a nearly monthly basis. The first option you have is to select if this is the new computer or the old. The new computer option is the import wizard that you can use after you've gone through these steps.

The wizard scans quite a few things and prepares for the next steps.

This next step is where you have to decide where to save the files. The network is the best method, in this case I was unplugged from the network. Instead I saved them all to my D drive which is the CD which I would then burn to a disk.

This next step you have to choose what you would like to include in this backup. Most of us will only want to select settings only. If you select both files and settings you'll want to check the box which allows you to select what file types to include in this backup.

After that's done it'll start creating the backup archive which could possibly take quite a while.
