Tracking Down Non-Microsoft Services
Tracking Down Non-Operating System Services
With our never ending struggle to get every ounce of performance out of our systems we try to do everything we can to free up resources. In our XP performance tweaking guide we instructed you to turn off any services that you don't need. A lot of programs install things as services that you don't know about. I want to show you how to track down non Micrososft services and remove them. We covered a bit about turning services off here .
1.) Start --> Run --> msconfig
2.) Services Tab
3.) At the bottom look for a checkbox that says Hide All Microsoft Services.
This prevents any Microsoft services from being displayed on this list so you can track down additional services that you should disable.
The more programs you've installed the more this tweak can help you.
